Advancing knowledge across industries
Research, centers and learning labs
At Bentley, we know our graduates’ success stems from our talent and passion for inquiry.
Our internationally recognized faculty conduct high-level scholarship, present at national and international conferences and publish with top-level journals and academic presses. Bentley supports research that prepares leaders who can address complex challenges through multiple lenses. Faculty members from our arts and sciences and business disciplines know that the ability to fuse both is key to producing graduates with knowledge of business and its wider societal value.
What Happens When Auditors Get the Flu?
A study by Bentley researchers finds that productivity declines when employees get the flu, but there are ways companies can mitigate the losses.
The Research Council provides intellectual leadership on research at Bentley University. The council does this through the following three interrelated activities aligned with the university’s vision, mission and strategy:
- Develop and articulate a perspective on why research is essential to continuing and enhancing the achievement of Bentley’s mission.
- Present a clear vision of what constitutes quality research at Bentley and position this vision within the broader context of faculty scholarship.
- Support Bentley faculty as they pursue and enhance the quality of their research endeavors and advise academic leadership about actions and platforms needed to further Bentley’s research agenda.
Thought Leadership Networks (TLNs) engage a multidisciplinary group of scholars and thought leaders, pushing all to take a broad-based approach and wider view, and train students in trans-disciplinary perspectives and knowledge. Since inception in 2014, two TLNs have emerged:
- Health Thought Leadership Network
- Data Innovation Network
Other TLNs are devoted to developing undergraduate/faculty research collaborations at Bentley; expanding science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education across the business curriculum; and cybersecurity.
Bentley’s research centers and initiatives serve as a hub for faculty, student and business partners to work together to confront the challenges of today and shape the opportunities of tomorrow.
